RentAssist Guide is a read-only reference site. We collect as little information as possible. This page explains what is collected, why, and who else is involved.

Information we collect
We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect names, addresses, or other personal details about your housing situation. The state and household-size selections you make in the on-site picker are used only to route you to the right page — they are not stored or linked to you.
Like most websites, our servers automatically record standard technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request, and the date and time of each request. This information is used to operate the site, diagnose problems, and understand aggregate usage.
Cookies and analytics
We may use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working correctly and to measure aggregate traffic. Analytics tools, where used, collect usage data in aggregate and do not identify you personally. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings; the site remains usable without them.
Third-party services
Some pages link to external resources operated by government agencies and non-profits (for example HUD, USDA, the VA, and 211.org). When you follow those links you are subject to the privacy practices of those sites, not ours. We also rely on standard hosting and content-delivery providers to serve the site, which process technical request data on our behalf.
How we use information
Information is used solely to operate, secure, and improve the site. We do not sell personal information, and we do not build advertising or marketing profiles about visitors.
Data retention
Automatically collected technical logs are kept only as long as needed for operational and security purposes and are then deleted or anonymized.
Children's privacy
This site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.
